Privacy Policy

Your PDFs stay on your device

Folio processes all PDFs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to any server. We cannot see, access, or store your documents.

What we collect

• Analytics: None. Folio runs no third-party analytics, no tracking scripts, and no advertising pixels. We don't measure your visit at all.
• Account data: When you create an account, your email address, name, and sign-in events are processed by Clerk, our authentication provider. Clerk operates under its own privacy policy. We use your account solely to manage your subscription and free export allowance.
• Payment data: Subscriptions and payments are managed by Clerk Billing, with Stripe as the payment processor. Your card details are entered on Stripe-operated forms and never touch Folio's code or infrastructure.
• Project and session data: Your PDF, configuration, and printer profiles are saved in your browser's localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB and never leave your device.
• Free-export allowance: A list of exported-file identifiers (file name and size only, never document content) is stored with your Clerk account so it follows you across devices.

Cookies

Folio's own code does not set cookies. Clerk, our authentication provider, sets a session cookie when you sign in so you stay signed in. We run no analytics or tracking cookies of any kind.

Third-party services

• Clerk (authentication and account management) — processes your email address, name, and session data. See Clerk's privacy policy.
• Stripe — payment processing via hosted checkout (card details never reach our servers)
• Google Fonts — web font delivery
